General Information:
The Torcman TM 430 series
motors are designed for high power applications, addressing input power
anywhere between 700 and 2000 Watts. The very robust motors have been in the
field for many years now. They are typically used in large Scale- and Acro- and
Towing- models as well as in gliders and helicopters (60-90 sizes).
The TM 430 series motors are available in 3 different sizes addressing
different applications :
TM430-20 for Input power up to 1000 Watts
TM430-30 for Input power up to 1500 Watts
TM430-40 Triton for Input power up to 2000
Watts
While there is a choice to
make between 10 and 14 poles motors for the TM430-20 and TM430-30, the TM430-40
Triton is only available in a 10 poles version. We will refer to them as 10pole
or 14pole in this document.
10pol-versions are typically
used in scenarios, where rotation speed between 8000 and 15000rpm are required
(mostly helicopters). The14pol versions are to be preferred where torque is
more important than rpms. This is typically the case where large diameter
propellers are used. We even have customers that have successfully installed
them in bikes, kickboards and other means of transportation.
For applications with more
than 24 NiCd/NiMh cells or 7 LiPo cells it is generally better to use the 10pol
versions, since most of the controllers have problems to handle the high power.
The best choiceregarding controller for these motors is the Hacker Master 77.
This controller adresses applications all the way up to 32 cells and 77Amps, covering
the full motor specification.

For fuselages with a very tight head, it is possible to install an extension
kit which moves the motor back by either 40 or 50mm, reducing the required diameter
of the fuselage to 40mm (see drawing below).

load:
The following table gives an overview of the specific rpm in rpm/V. This value
is dependent on the stiffness of the motor and is available for a number of
different loads.
